I've lived and worked in Alaska as a ship captain and an artist for over 30 years, with it's dramatic backdrops I think the Alaska Railroad is one of the most beautiful trains in the world.
I have had a passion for drawing and painting since my mother trusted me not to eat the crayons. I also love photography and have been getting paid for a number years so I guess that makes me some sort of professional.

Aloha David, I agree. I loved seeing the train station in Fairbanks, and seeing and hearing the train near Denali. This is a beautiful work of art and you are most welcome to add it to our dynamic new FAA groups Alaska Beyond Your Dreams, as well as Dimensions :))

Looks like Turnagain Arm in the background. This painting kind of makes me homesick. I spent 30 years in Alaska but the snow finally got to me so I had to move to Washington state.
